Free Album : "Upon a Sleepless River"

As mentioned by a reader, the netlabel which hosted this instrumental album has gone missing...
So I'm releasing this again here.

"Upon a Sleepless River" is a dense, dark, political, cinematographic album with moody piano improvisations, noise experiments and a mix of cold digital landscapes and searing analogue leads.

This is a work about victory in the XXth century, from Harry Truman to General McArthur, with Kurtz the European Son providing historical perspective.

1 - Harry S. Truman at Hiroshima

2 - The European Son

3 - Last Words of Mistah Kurtz

4 - A Remarkable Man

5 - McArthur visits Unit 731

6 - Upon a Sleepless River

Main instruments : Moog Little Phatty, Prophet 08, M-Tron, Korg Wavestation, Roland D50.

Groove on “Last Words” and ambient sound design on “McArthur” by John Fisher aka Ricemutt aka Bagger288.
“McArthur” is featured on short film “Cold Sweat” by Thomas Lesourd.

Yup, It's Dead

Looks like netlabel Bitkins is dead indeed and its creator is out of reach.
So, I'll be releasing again here my instrumental albums, "Upon a Sleepless River" and "Uniforms of Snow", in a remastered version.

Dead Site?

As a reader kindly told me, the Bitkins.com website is down.
It's the netlabel for my instrumental albums, "Uniforms of Snow" and more recently, "Upon a Sleepless River".
I'm checking into that and if it turns out it's definitely dead, I'll re-release the albums.
A track from "Upon a Sleepless River" has been used in "Cold Sweat".

Cold Sweat

Fifth track off the upcoming "Upon a Sleepless River" album, "McArthur Visits Unit 731" is featured on this great short film by director Thomas Lesourd.

I am very pleased with the result and sure look forward collaborating again with him.

Polishing...

I'm also putting the final touches on the instrumental album "Upon a Sleepless River", which will be released on netlabel Bitkins.

This is a dark, brooding work about victory dancing in the XXth century.

1 - Harry S. Truman at Hiroshima

2 - The European Son

3 - Last Words of Mistah Kurtz

4 - A Remarkable Man

5 - McArthur visits Unit 731

6 - Upon a Sleepless River

It was mostly done with Gforce Mellotron plugins (regular and pro), Korg Wavestation and Roland D50, with the usual analog suspects providing warmth and depth (Moog Little Phatty and Prophet 08).

I'm not sure yet when it will be released, since the netlabel is currently undergoing a refit.

The fifth track will also be featured on a silent movie.

More to come...

Upcoming : "Upon a Sleepless River"

So, there's been a couple of good releases lately (notably Tsinam's "Chasing Ghosts" and the Police covers), but I've still lots of music to put out there this year, because basically I can't stop working.

"Upon a Sleepless River" is an instrumental album to be released soon on netlabel Bitkins (which already released my "Uniforms of Snow" album).

"Upon a Sleepless River" is a dense, dark, political, cinematographic work with moody piano improvisations, noise experiments and a mix of cold digital landscapes and searing analogue leads.

A couple of tracks will feature the grooves and ambient sound design of Mr Fisher aka Ricemutt aka Bagger288 aka Golden Master.

The good people at Bitkins are currently reworking the site, so I'll let you know the final release date when it comes.
