"The Crack-Up" EP : Finished

Yup, finally got to finalize this one, leaving behind many mixing attempts and several discarded songs.

It's in the process of being released on iTunes.

This is an electronic pop EP, in the same vein of "Broken Sails", only, well, more pop.

Today, work on the music video for the upcoming "The Crack-Up" single.

Experiments with multiple cameras, here we've got a nice row of Canon Eos 550D.

Recording "Nowhere Near" : Atari Forever

Since I'm finalizing this project, let's redo this old post.

"Nowhere Near" will be featured on the Crack-Up EP. It's Eighties-style, synthpop, bouncy thing. Lots of Moog.

Last thing I wanted to do is a 16bit computer outro. Now, let me state that I am NOT into chiptune music. BUT the song itself had a little retro vibe to it, with somewhat nostalgic lyrics, so it felt right to end it up with a little Atari ST tune.

Not being crazy enough to bring back my old Atari (if it would work anyway), I've used the next best thing, that is, the excellent ymVST emulation (HERE).

The following excerpt from "Nowhere Near" is the "Atari ST" arrangement submix.

Procrastination

All right, I'm still fidgeting about...

But I'll close the lid on the new projects before leaving on vacation at the end of July, no matter what!

First we've got "The Crack-Up" : electropop EP, 5 or 6 songs (depending on my ability to solve mixing issues on "Last Night I Was a Ghost").

I'll be shooting some video for the title song this month.

Then, "Hollow Lands", the folk-blues albumette starring Miss Roxanne, Adcbicycle, Jérôme Guienne and Roshi.

For this one, we'll also be shooting a B&W music video, that is, on the closing song "Dark Mind".

Some of you have trouble with the Dailymotion streaming, so here's the Youtube upload as well. Today, back to work on finalizing the mix.

I'm planning to release this on the "Crack-Up" album.
The new DSI Tempest is drumming all along and boy does it sound great.
Otherwise, the usual suspects : plenty of Moog and Prophet 08, as well as some acoustic guitar.

The outstanding DSI Tempest drum machine provided the basis for the song, and I've added lots of Moog Little Phatty and Prophet 08. Also featured, the new Chamberlin expansion for Gforce M-Tron Pro.

What's Up

I guess I'm procrastinating a bit. Don't seem to be able to finish off projects.

But this is well under way : "The Crack-Up".

Electro-pop EP, in the 80's vein of the previous "Broken Sails" albumette, very poppy and very analogue.

Demos from these have been posted now and then, but the final product should be ready this winter.
