The Hungarian Wave

1982.

Who were they?

Where did they go?

What the hell is going on here?

They did not make it in the media. They had live acts. They used to tour cities around the summer resorts of Lake Balaton, sometimes as supporting acts of more popular and famous Hungarian groups. I hear that some of the band members still play live in the same region.

Thanks for the info!
It sounds like a new wave version of a Frank Zappa pop song.
I'd sure love to hear more from them but I can't seem to find much on the web.

It is surely hard to find them on the net. Why don't you have a look at this other band from the same era: http://indavideo.hu/video/GM49_-BELAT_ITT_NE_KERESSEK_1984-POP_SHOP
The group is called GM49 and it is the brainchild of the Hungarian John Cleese. The Polysix is a killer....

Sure, that's fun...
Really weird arrangement, with that super-dirty synth bass, the robotic drums and the saxophones.
