Retroblog : Patches Everywhere

Some synth sounds I've posted last year.

Moog Little Phatty

Endgame
(Hit a low key, hold it and put the mod wheel to maximum, for some apocalyptic and analogue crescendo).

Atari Forever
(Switch the arpeggiator on and toy around with bizarre chords and the mod wheel)

Prophet 08

Speedallish (Bank 1 - 25)
Electronic sequence, quite dynamic

DoublePad (Bank 1 - 35)
An experiment with the Prophet's dual layering : a low pad morphes into a higher one

4VoiceDreampad (Bank 1 - 36)
Another 4 voices analogue pad... use mod wheel to add some nice vibrato

Four Sounds

Roland D50

The Bank
A complete bank of great factory sounds... it's mostly strings and pads, but note that the bank also features Jarre's sounds for the Revolutions album (the "Industrial revolution" intro sound, etc...) Please please, remember to back up your own bank before sending this sysex, because everything will be replaced!

If you need a freeware to manage all that stuff, try MIDI-OX.

Microkorg Patches

I hadn't been using my Microkorg too much these last couple of years, but lately I've added it to my live rig and got to program new stuff.

The following track is 100% Microkorg, except CR78 drums.

All patches used on this track can be downloaded in this zip file.

They are in sysex format. You may use a free software like MIDI-OX to load them in your Microkorg.

And now, for some Moog patches

Let's Moogify this patch thing!
Two sysex files for the Moog Little Phatty.

Endgame
Hit a low key, hold it and put the mod wheel to maximum, for some apocalyptic and analogue crescendo.

Atari Forever
Switch the arpeggiator on (my apologies if you haven't got it!) and toy around with bizarre chords and the mod wheel... retro FX inside!

Return of the Prophet Patches

And three more for the 08...

Speedallish (Bank 1 - 25)
Electronic sequence, quite dynamic

DoublePad (Bank 1 - 35)
An experiment with the Prophet's dual layering : a low pad morphes into a higher one

4VoiceDreampad (Bank 1 - 36)
Another 4 voices analogue pad... use mod wheel to add some nice vibrato

Prophet 08 patch

The main patch for the "Place of Dead Roads" track...
It's a complex, ambient-rhythm pad. Use the mod wheel to change the tone.
As indicated in the file, it loads on 15, Bank 1, so back up your own sound in that slot beforehand if you don't want to lose it.

Roland D50 patches

It's patch time!
Let me say first that these aren't my sounds... with an interface that crappy, I haven't really had the time and/or the energy to get to serious programming yet.
What I've done, on the other hand, is compiling all string and pads I could in one sysex file.
This was mostly for my purposes in the short term, but then I thought it might be useful to other new owners.
The Bank
So, if you just just purchased a Roland D50 or D550, you can use this sysex to load a complete bank of great factory sounds... it's mostly strings and pads, but note that the bank also features Jarre's sounds for the Revolutions album (the "Industrial revolution" intro sound, etc...)
Please please, remember to back up your own bank before sending this sysex, because everything will be replaced!
Also, if you need a freeware to manage all that stuff, try MIDI-OX/

Prophet 08 Patches (well, four of them)

Haven't been very active this week for work and health reasons (damn winter!)...
So, let's start a patch series!
I love patches and it's surprinsingly hard to find some on the web.
Here's four simple Prophet 08 sounds I made :
Prophet08.zip
To load them into your synth, use anything that transmit sysex - on Windows, I'd suggest
Midi-Ox
The B-xxx at the beginning of the sysex indicates where the sound is going to be put, so back up your own sounds first, because the corresponding patches will be replaced!
